The CIA and the other alpabet intelligence agencies
exist and we spend a lot of tax payer money on them.

But what exactly are they for?

The law says they are to provide intelligence
about foreign countries.

The reality is different.

Here's what the CIA et. al. have actually done
over the years:

1. Helped Nazi scientists and political operatives
find safe haven and government employment in the
United States after World War II (Operation Paper Clip)

2. Subverted - often violently - the governments of
countries with large oil holdings (Ira, Iraq) or
alternative economic policies (Chile, Guatemala)
and give support to the new dictators they put in
power.

Ex-SEAL and former Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura
reveals a third role the CIA plays in American life:
surveilling and attempting to intimidate independent
political figures in the US.

Netvandamál hjá Símnet / DNS server niðri

Hérna er smá infó fyrir ykkur sem eruð að lenda í netleysi vegna þess að nafnaþjónar simnet.is eru niðri. Ég fann ágætis síðu með public DNS serverum hérna http://theos.in/windows-xp/free-fast-public-dns-server-list/

Er núna að nota 4.2.2.1 og 4.2.2.2 sem DNS servera og virka þeir fínt en það er greinilegt að símnet á við einhverjar árásir. Til að festa þessar DNS tölur inn þá (Windows) farið inn í network connections -> hægrismellið á nettenginguna og veljið properties (heitir local area connection ef þið tengist með netsnúru eða Wireless connection ef þið notið þráðlaust net). Þar ætti að koma upp listi og flettið neðst í hann og tvísmellið á Internet protocol TCP/IP...  Þar hakið þið við Use the following DNS addresses og setjið 4.2.2.1 sem primary og 4.2.2.2 sem secondary. Allaveganna eru þeir ekki búnir að koma 212.30.200.200 (einn af nafnaþjónum símnets þ.e. sá algengasti) online eins og er. Maður þarf víst að getað reddað sér í sveitinni ;)

ATH ef þið farið svo með tölvuna í vinnuna þarf að breyta til baka þ.e. haka við optain DNS automaticaly
